Though a youngster, Cory shows admirable care for the community by donating a portion of his album sales to the Children’s Cancer Society. “I dedicate this album to my best friend‟s cousin and my Dad who are now in remission.” With this in mind, Cory took time to visit the Ronald McDonald House in Nashville. Kaye Slater, House Manager commented by saying, “...You won over the hearts of everyone here and we know you will have a bright future!”

When one has the chance to catch Cory live, they will see first hand how his impressionable charm and humble spirit connects with audiences of all ages. “There‟s nothing better than hearing your fans clap and cheer when you‟ve poured your heart and soul into the performance,” says Cory. Cory‟s not afraid to laugh at himself at shows and his humor can be just as entertaining as his live performance. “People probably wonder why a kid my age even knows that these songs exist and I‟ve got „Papa‟ to thank for that one. When it comes to getting on a stage, I always say, „I‟m not here for a long time, I‟m here for a good time.‟”

Covering hits that were first released during World War II, a deep voice projects from the tall, slender man on stage with his hands wrapped around a guitar. This description is one you would expect to see describing a classic country singer, but when the spotlight lands center stage, jaws drop when a teenager is revealed. At 16, Cory Walker‟s debut project is capturing the attention and hearts of all ages.

This Greenville, SC native draws inspiration from all areas of the music spectrum, with the likes of Conway Twitty, Tupac, and AC/DC. However when it came time to record his self titled debut album, Cory‟s voice planted its roots in the vintage stones of traditional and classic country. His love for that style resulted from his grandfather, Papa, who played bass and piano and even sang in local band throughout his childhood. Cory leaped at every opportunity he could to record music and laid down his first vocal tracks when he was 12. Since then, Cory has learned to play guitar, bass and piano, and has recorded his self titled debut album alongside Grammy award-winning producer Eric Paul (Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, etc.). “Since Papa quit his local band to support his family with another job, I told him, „with this new album, you can now enjoy my music I have created!

When Cory‟s not strumming the heart strings of country music fans, he likes to spend time outdoors. “I‟m a southern boy, so of course I love hunting, fishing and playing around in the mud...But I also enjoy playing lacrosse almost as much as playing music,” laughs Cory. Whenever Cory has the opportunity, he visits his greatest supporters; his Dad, Papa and Nana, who live in Cory‟s birth place, Orlando, Florida.

Growing up listening to Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Jr., this traditionalist was bound to become a part of the country music scene. At the tender age of 4, Cory knew this was what he wanted after going backstage at the Grand Ole Opry. “After meeting everyone backstage and seeing the famous circle in the center of the Opry stage, I knew this was what I wanted and my goal was to perform there one day.” Cory also connected with the music of Merle at a young age after attending a show with his grandparents. “I always admired and looked up to him for his performances and the powerful songs he sang. I think I knew every word of every song he sang that night.”
